Majhi Doctorki ( माझी डॉक्टरकी )

A wonderful book, should be prescribed as a text for professional ethics, an emotion that is sadly in short supply.
The authour, hailing from a well connected medical family, choosing to shift to a rural setting in the early 1980's is indeed commendable, not only did Dr. (Ms) Kulkarni, settle in a remote village, she carved a place for herself in the hearts of the locals. The book written in conversational marathi is an easy read, having read the book, it compells the reader to reflect on the quirks and foibles of men and women, even the occasional humourous incidents are gems. All in all a wonderful read, that not only entertains but also enriches.

A Doctor’s account of life and practice in rural Maharashtra. Dr. Kulkarni through her experiences takes the reader straight into the small village “Sahada”. This book must be prescribed as a compulsory reading for all Medical Students as part of Medical Ethics
